WeChat Pay users can make purchases without Internet access and pay after landing

The popular Chinese social media platform, in fact, has made mobile payment in flight possible through post-landing regulation. The first to take advantage of this technology are the passengers who carry out two flights transported by Spring Airlines. WeChat Pay, for them, has launched a mobile payment service.
As said, not everyone will be able to take advantage of this technology. The first to be able to use it are the users of WeChat Pay with a credit score higher than 550, which can request the service, which allows them to make purchases without Internet access during the flight and to pay automatically through their accounts after the ‘landing. The service will be promoted to other flights to improve the shopping experience, as confirmed by WeChat.

China is the largest market for mobile payment services in the world, with technology and financial giants promoting their tools to facilitate easier payments for shopping, restaurants and daily travel.
Data from the central bank of the country showed that the number of mobile payment transactions increased by 79.6% on an annual basis in the first quarter of 2019, while the total value saw an increase of 22.32%.
